Right about now, kids all over the world are thinking of Santa Claus and his elves, busily making toys and preparing for Christmas at the North Pole. Well, those kids would most likely be surprised and excited to learn about a secret underground passageway that leads to the North Pole at one of the oldest and most popular attractions in the Southeast, Ruby Falls!
Located deep inside Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Ruby Falls is a 145 foot waterfall which has been named one of the Ten Most Incredible Cave Waterfalls on Earth. Getting to the falls through the awe-inspiring cave is just as thrilling as seeing the falls itself!
Recently, a new section of the cave was discovered and it set the scene for a perfect holiday adventure, The Ruby Falls Christmas Underground. This magical, subterranean world becomes a unique Christmas fantasy, where a crew of miners and elves frolic and play as they search for Joystone, a rare gem that helps spread the spirit of Christmas throughout the World. The cavern is beautifully decorated with lights and Christmas trees, and just happens to be the home of the Sugar Plum Fairy Village. (Fairies come from all over the World to help mine for Joystone.) As you make your way through the Northern Lights and a beautiful ice cave passageway, you will come upon an even more rare gem, Santa Claus himself, waiting to greet, and have his picture taken with children of all ages! At the end of this fun-filled tour, all of the children who came to help Santa in this important mining mission will receive their very own precious Joystone.
The Ruby Falls Christmas Underground is designed for children ages 2 – 10, but even adults seem to get caught up in this magical wonderland, making it a joyful holiday adventure for the whole family!
